  • SADCSTAN signs statement of Technical Cooperation with CEN - The Southern African Development Community Cooperation in Standardization (SADCSTAN) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) signed a Statement of Technical Cooperation at a ceremony held at The National Leadership Institute of Madagascar in Antananarivo, Madagascar on the 25th April 2007. The signing ceremony was held in conjuction with the 22nd Annual meetings of the SADC Expert Group on Standardisation, Quality Assurance, Acreditation and Metrology (SQAM). more>>

  • SAZ External Training Section Grows in Leaps and Bounce - SAZ has been offering standards-based training programmes since June 2000. The section was established to help promote an understanding of standards requirements in order to encourage their implementation. The External Training section falls under the Marketing and Public Relations department. more>>
  • SAZ Signs MoU with BOBS - The SAZ, Zimbabwe 's national standards body signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Botswana national standards body, the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) at the SAZ head office in Harare on Friday 25 November 2005 . This was the second such MoU that the SAZ has formally entered into with another national standards body within the region following the signing of a similar MoU with the Congolese Control Office in 2004.more>>
  • Rainosi Wins the Inaugural SAZ Standards Reporter of the Year - A young reporter from the New Ziana, Mr MacDonald Rainosi made history for himself by becoming the first winner of the inaugural SAZ Standards Reporter of the Year. more>>
  • 2005 World Standards Day Seminar - In commemoration of the 2005 World Standards Day (WSD), SAZ held a half-day seminar on Thursday 27 October 2005 at its head office in Borrowdale, Harare . The theme for the seminar, which was in line with the rest of the world, was “ Standards for a Safer World ”. This seminar, the fourth to be run by the SAZ since 2002, was organized to coincide with the WSD celebrations. more>>
  • SADCSTAN delegates participated in a study visit to the European Union from 1 – 14 October 2005. The study visit was designed to expose SADCSTAN delegates to the European regional standardization system and how it works from all angles. more>>
  • The SADCSTAN Executive Committee held its second meeting from 16-18 January 2006 at the new and prestigious building of the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) in Gaborone, Botswana. The 3-day meeting was attended by all the Executive Committee members including observers from Physikalisch – Technische Bundesanstalt PTB Germany and BOBS.   • The IEC General Meeting was hosted by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) in Cape Town from 17 – 21 October 2005. More than 1600 from most IEC members and IEC affiliates around the world attended the general meeting. It was the largest IEC GM ever held. more>>
